ABOUT US
Pointing Souls, Inc. a 501 (c) 3 organization birthed 4 years ago out of Christian Home Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. We were created with the vision to help the youth and citizens of the 3 rd Ward Community.
Projects
PARTNER - Christian Home MBC
For the past 2 years, we have partnered with Christian Home MBC, A Seat at the Table, as well as HEB to successfully launch a Summer Program for students that are in grades k-5. We provide the following services: Educational Instruction in the areas of Reading, Writing, Math and Computer Literacy(TEA certified volunteer teachers) Feeding Program (breakfast, snack and lunch) A day of Empowerment each Wednesday (focused on male/female specifics in areas ofself-awareness, character, career building, arts and crafts and also Spiritual Direction)
COMMUNITY EFFORTS
2018
Inaugural Year, we were able to service 27 students 3 days per week from 8am – 2pm. The highlight of our year was to witness 6 students give their lives to Christ along with their mother.
COMMUNITY
We host a yearly Community Meet and Greet – a time where we open our doors to the community providing them with information on the church and other programs that we offer.In 2018 we serviced 87 individuals and 2019 we serviced 103.ï‚· we provide backpacks filled with supplies for the youthï‚· there is a raffle every 30 minutesï‚· we also provide music, food and games for all.
2019
In our 2 nd year, we were able to service 40 students. We increased from 3 days to 4 days in order to take field trips. In our time together, we were able to take the students on 2 field trips to tour the Blue Bell Creamery and the Buffalo Soldier Museum.
We host a yearly Christmas Toy Drive where we receive donations from our congregation to provide for the underprivileged youth in our Community. Over the past 4 years, we have
serviced the following kids: 2016 – 38, 2017 – 30, 2018 - 45 kids and in 2019 – 55.

Over the past 4 years we have serviced the following individuals: 2016 – 62, 2017 – 75, 2018 –87 and 2019 – 103.
During this event we provide the following services:

We provide a hot meal as well as delivery service
We also host a yearly Thanksgiving Luncheon where we invite and serve the Community. This is also a time to help address any needs they may have as well as offer any Spiritual help they may need. Through this effort, we have witnessed a father and his son unite with us. Over the past 4 years we have serviced the following adults and kids: 2016 – 70, 2017 – 85, 2018 – 100 and in 2019 – 125 based on the number of meals we prepared.
